I have been pampering Rockaholic, primarily because I am living the single life (for the time being). I spent well over a year looking for the right vehicle for me, and I eventually decided on the Xterra. I enjoy outdoor activities such as skiing, kayaking, canoeing, biking, and I hope to get a job working in the great outdoors. I wanted a vehicle that could traverse muddy conditions, handle well in snow and on icy hills, have room to store ski gear for myself and friends, have enough cargo room to hold a bike inside, and which performed well in crash tests and had enough ground clearance so that I could go offroad. I test drove a variety of vehicles, and the one that impressed me the most, was the X. The size of the X is perfect, since I will be moving a few times before I permanently settle down and I can fit everything I own (minus my Drumset) in and on it at once. Having the Xterra makes accessing areas for my active lifestyle (when I have both the money and time to do so) easier, and it allows me to do something which I enjoy but was unable to do in my previous vehicles...combine my love of nature, driving, and exploration.
I have been making modifications to Rockaholic ever since I got her. These modifications have been to make my X more offroad capable and friendly, and also for my own comfort. Check out the list of what I have done, and what I currently plan to do. There are even some pictures and directions for your own modifications as well.
I take Rockaholic offroading when I get the opportunity. Personally, I prefer water crossings and sandy trails, but I have become a fan of rock crawling (although I'm not a fan of the damage rocks can do to the frame or body). Last run: 01/06/02 Ocala National Forest: Ocala, Florida. I went and palyed with Warmonger and SilverRaider from Florida Xtreme Xterra's and the Orlando Tacoma Club and Ocala Jeep Club. A muddy fun time. See my past runs
