| A little about me! I have 2 cats. I love animals, so I have posted pictures of my pets - past and present. I have been teaching children with autism in special schools for 8 years. It's a lot more than a job. It's a personal spiritual journey. |

| Personal thoughts! 1.Teaching children with ASD has to begin at home and must continue there. It's not realistic to expect the child with ASD to transfer any of the knowledge learnt in school to the home without the participation of the family. If the family members are not willing or able to continue home teaching, they should not even bother to send the child to school. 2. It's not right to assume a child is not capable of learning a particular skill. Often, it's not that the child cannot learn, but that the teacher cannot teach!!! Parents and teachers should not give up too easily - the child should be taught as much as possible and the parent/teacher should try to be as far-sighted as possible. |
