1st Lieutenant L. Stephensson
Infantry Platoon Leader
210th USDOC Reserve

Lieutenant Stephensson joined the 210th from the regular ranks of USDOC. A member of the cadre sent to assist in the "transistion training" of the Unit from Regular Army to USDOC RU, he quickly requested permanent assignment to Ft. Ross.

"I wanted to stay with the Unit," he explained, "Sort of finish what we had started. It's a great group of soldiers."

Before joining USDOC, LT Stephensson was a member of the United States Army. An ROTC graduate from a small state school in New York, he attended Officer's Basic School/Infantry Branch immediately upon graduation. During his summer breaks he was able to attend both Air Assault and Airborne schools.

As Platoon Leader of the Unit's main Crisis Response Team, Stephensson is usually the first member of the 210th on the scene of any situation.

"He's got a real level head," COL Begines stated, "which, obviously, is essential in his position. He's done exemplary work with the platoon, and he has a promising future as an officer in USDOC."

1SGT Montero added some high praise, "He's okay...for an officer. He hasn't needed as much training as most...and he can read a map!"
