| DRCO Begines promoted to Colonel APR02, Ft. Ross - Deputy Reserve Commanding Officer T.J. Begines was promoted this month to the rank of USDOC Colonel, at a ceremony on the parade grounds of Ft. Ross. "He's been doing a colonel's work for some time now," Commander Merzke said, "it's about time he got the bird...uhm...I mean his eagles." "I am honored. I enjoy working with all of you." Begines told the gathered troops. "This promotion reflects on you and your abilities as a unit." It was reported a nice time was had by all at the reception that followed in the O-club. |
| LCPL Singer tranfers to new Aviation unit APR02, FT. Ross - Lance Corporal Paul Singer is an enlisted man no more! Recently completing rotary-wing flight school, HQ's former communications specialist had his Warrant Officer's bars pinned on at the recent promotion ceremony held at Ft. Ross. Coinciding perfectly with the acquisition of the Unit's new "Little Bird," Mr. Singer will serve as the co-pilot on helicopter 21001. "I can't wait to get in the air," Singer said. "I'm really looking forward to working with Captain Guarro." "We'll miss him in the platoon," Begines said, "but it's not like he'll be that far away. I'm happy for the kid." |
