JAMES MADISON PREPARATORY LEVEL WORK

Since this is a James Madison Preparatory Language Arts course, all graded work must demonstrate mastery. This means that it:

 Responds appropriately to the assignment
 Has academically verified content
 Is well developed
 Has a clear, readable style
 Is reasonably well-focused
 Is well-organized
 Uses appropriate language and tone
 Uses correct English mechanics.

If you submit work that does not demonstrate an honest attempt to meet these requirements for James Madison Preparatory level work, I will not correct or grade it. My general philosophy is that my role is to be the coach and your role is to be an academic warrior - fighting, clawing, and sweating to score as many of the goals outlined in the section above entitled the
Goals of Cultural Literacy.   I will be very disappointed if you are not working as hard as you can.  It is my duty to give you a chance at such a high level of success and I am not in the habit of failing at my duties.  It is your responsibility to communicate with me any and all difficulties that you encounter in my class.  To be humbled academically can be discouraging; to realize that you do not possess a strong work ethic will be devastating.

Please read and be very aware of the
James Madison Preparatory Handbook and our Mission Statement, as we are here to learn and live the code.
