UGANDA

here's a picture of us digging, we're actually clearing some land so that they can plant some kasava (a type of root), me and christina would help dig (hoe) once in a while...

the most adorable kids in the world! these were the Lee Family kids - left is baby Hae Chan, then the girl is Hae Rim, and the boy is Hae Min. they were really good kids...

here is the Lee Family, we also stayed with the Kim Family for a month but we didn't take a group picture with them unfortunately...

here's me and christina wearing traditional uganda clothes

this is posho - what we ate for lunch every day. yes. lunch evvvvery day. nope, that's not rice and beans - the white stuff is made out of maze and has absolutely no taste, the beans were normal but (lucky me) i happen to really really really not like beans.

have you heard of jackfruit? its the biggest fruit. it's bigger than watermelon. it's really heavy and is kinda spiky on the outside. this is the jackfruit tree...we tasted it - it's a combo of pineapples and bananas gone wrong. it has this weird alien like slimy texture and a putrid odor. the natives seem to like it but me and christina would pass when we could.

christina sprained her ankle while we were in uganda. here, the missionary wife got this pen-like instrument that was really a small needle and poked her ankle all over then got this glass cup-like thing with a tip (above) and put it over her skin where she poked it with a needle. then she got a pump thing and attached it to the tip of the cup and then sucked out the air! guess what else it sucked out? HER BLOOD. the thing is, they said that there was bad blood in her ankle which is why it was swollen. when they were pumping out her blood all these bubbles were oozing out too.
