This interesting and quaint little Southern Region terminus is nearing the end of its heyday. Like Dunork, its origins are with the LSWR. We enter the station from a single line. To our left are the carriage sidings, and to our right we run alongside the River Bar, separating us from the loco shed. Bill Smith the signalman carefully watches over our train's movements. Looking back to the left is the goods yard comprising of two sidings. The small tank engine is in its bay siding with the push-pull set, and yes, thats Porter Baker being given his duties by Mr Bishop the Station Master under the canopy. We grind to a halt next to the station building as the fireman quickly jumps off his engine to uncouple the train. The loco moves forward to the buffer stops, a toot of the whistle and our old 'kettle' gracefully glides past the coaches and sets back into the engine shed. I dont see the hurry, there is another 40 minutes before its due to leave again!
At present this 4mm finescale layout is very much at the planning stage...more details will appear soon.
