WRIGHT LINES
Home If you like railways, then this is the place for you!

My interests and this web-site cover a fairly large area of railway interest in all sizes.
My main interest is steam railways, in particular the LSWR, Southern Railway and BR Southern Region. I also have an interest in many classes of diesel locomotives, and most recently I have shown a massive increase in interest of multiple units, in particular 3rd Rail EMUs in the south of England.

I have a 4mm-00 gauge model railway which I run strictly in either 1947 or present day...it doesn't take much adapting to do so. It is based in urban Surrey on a town by the name of Dunork. In 1947 an electrified SR (LSWR) secondary main line is the main focus, however there is also a presence of the GWR with a branch line that links up with the SR. Modern times sees the SR line being used by SWT, the GWR branch being closed in the 1960s is now a bustling preserved steam railway.
I am also producing drawings for a late 50s BR(s) layout in Devon. Again it will be fictional, the town this time called South Barton, the layout being a terminus station, rather than continous loop.
My dream, and everyone has one, is to model my home station of Surbiton in the 50s.

Another of my interests is model engineering. I am a member (and now Junior 'Correspondant' of the Roundhouse Journal) of the Malden & District Society of Model Engineers (MDSME), who run the Thames Ditton Miniature Railway (TDMR). I am currently building a 7 1/4" gauge 08 diesel shunter.

To my envolvement with 12" to 1' standard gauge, or 4' 8 1/2" gauge. I have done a week of Work Experience for SWT at Wimbledon Station, a total of 3 weeks for EWS at Old Oak Common as a fitter and for 2 weeks commencing Tuesday 13/07/04 I shall be a fitter for SWT at Wimbledon Park Depot. I have a great number of pictures from all these places, but I also go out and about on trains to photograph steam, diesel and electric locos and rolling stock!

This site does have an emphasis on railways in the South of England, but that does not rule out other areas of railway interest. The reason is that is where I spend most of my time and where most of my railway knowledge lies. If you cant find something here, then it is likely to be on either
SEMG or Trains Today, especially if your queerie is on South of England Railways.

Well that is the introduction, feel free to look around, and please email me for any picture requests.
