I am 'chief painter', or so I am affectionately known by some members, at this club as I am the one who normally goes out around the site repainting structures such as signal gantries, fencing and level crossing gates. I am also envolved with track maintenance, from general work such as greasing pointblades to renewing track and working on new lines. However my envolvement is much less now I paint, especially in the supposedly dry summer months.

This is my current project, and is absorbing a large proportion of my time. Having acquired drawings for a 7 1/4" gauge 08 diesel shunter back in Autumn 2003, and started work in January 2004, I have just resumed work on the frames, and am now cutting them out. The locomotive will be EWS owned 08890 in BR corporate grey. This was the first class 08 that I worked on at Old Oak Common on Wednesday 11/09/02. My hopes for the model is for it to be petrol-hydraulic driven.
