        This dictionary gives you complete information about most words or phrases in English.  It specializes in giving good example sentences to help you understand the meaning.

Merriam-Webster American English Dictionary
         This dictionary includes an audio file for each word so you can hear how it is pronounced in American English.

Cambridge Online Dictionary
          This dictionary provides excellent examples for each word, as well as a valuable dictionary for idioms.

One Look Dictionary
          This dictionary is great for technical or profession-specific terms.  It links you to all the dictionaries that have your word or phrase.  Very comprehensive.

IPA English Dictionary
          This dictionary gives you the transcription of a word or phrase into the International Phonetic Alphabet.  Great for prounciation students.
