| MTSU (48), (U) at Alabama (29), (U) Saturday 12:30 PM ET Final Score: Alabama, 39-34 GUEST SAGE STEFAN: Alabama, 21-13 15.2 points Harmon: Alabama, 31-12 12.8 points CFN: Alabama, 27-17 15.6 points Joe: Alabama, 37-24 16.4 points I was all hyped and ready to pick the upset, but then I was struck by a bolt of reality. They did win their division last year, but that's not enough to play any decent power conference teams. Tennessee State has one 25th place vote, giving them one overall point in the "others receiving votes" section of the AP poll. Although that was enough to send me into a MTSU frenzy, having picked them frequently in NCAA (enough to learn their fight song), it's not quite enough to beat 'Bama. I want to watch this just to see if their TE is as much of a beast as the game makes him out to be. G: Alabama, 38-13 11.2 points Anyone who hasn't already, go see G's movie reviews (and the rest of his webpage once he starts updating again. It's good). You can get their by going to FAFG home, then Main, and there should be a link to G's page. Phil: Alabama, 41-21 14.4 points Word on the street is that Middle Tennessee State has a pretty darn good team. Actually, that word's not out on the street, no one on the street talks about Middle Tennessee State. They could pull the upset, but the Crimson Tide and QB Tyler Watts should get the job done. After all, it seems like Watts has been there since the Reagan era. TCU at Cincinatti Monday 4:30 PM ET Final: Cincinatti 36-29 GUEST SAGE STEFAN: Cincinatti, 31-21 17.8 points Harmon: Cincinatti, 19-14 16.2 points CFN: Cincinatti, 27-24 17.4 points Joe: TCU, 30-14 6 points One of those games I know nothing about. But hey. That's a reason I wanted to play this game. To better inform myself of the game. I had to just look at what each team did last year, and take a shot in the dark. Cinci didn't impress me at all, so I picked a larger spread than normal. G: TCU, 24-21 10 points Horned Frogs and LaDanian Tomlinson. Phil: Cincinatti, 42-31 18 points Two of the better teams in Conference USA square off here. The Bearcats are led by Sophomore QB Gino Guidugli. He'll captain a potent offense, but can the defense limit TCU to less points? The TCU QBs are unproven, and it will hurt him here. Still might be a shootout. |
