| Virginia at Florida State (5). (5) Saturday 3:30 PM ET Final: Florida State, 40-19 GUEST SAGE STEFAN: Florida State, 35-0 13.4 points Harmon: Florida State, 34-14 18.6 points CFN: Florida State, 48-20 17 points Joe: Florida State, 51-14 Virginia looked pretty terrible to me last week. Also, I think it's unfair to both Florida State and Iowa State that the latter is unranked. Now, more than ever, Florida State needs to make sure that the ACC knows who's boss. Here's your chance to send a message, Chris. 14.6 points G: Florida State, 45-14 Sorry, I couldn't help but use this opportunity to use my most handy insult, "you're gay", against G (in his CSU analysis). He would have had lots to say about this one. "blah VA's LBs, blah blah, Sapp last week, blah blah, Schaub, McMullen, McGrew doodle waddle Heisman hopeful Chris blah Rix blah punish". 17 points Phil: Florida State, 45-18 FSU looked shaky against a solid Iowa State team in the second half, almost losing the game. Virginia already did lose, to Colorado State. Chalk up another one in the loss column, Cavaliers. 17.8 points Auburn (28), (27) at USC (20), (19) Monday 8:00 PM ET Final: USC 24-17 GUEST SAGE STEFAN: Auburn, 27-14 18.2 points Harmon: USC, 34-17 16 points CFN: USC, 23-20 18.6 points Joe: Auburn, 21-17 11.4 points An overrated team meets + underrated team who is ranked lower = upset. Sort of. These kind of games aren't really upsets, because it's only the first week, but I'll jump on any form of upset that I can predict. I would have picked the score a little more spread apart if this had been at Auburn. G: USC, 27-21 19 points "blah blah the cocks blah blah wait wrong SC blah blah pretty good. Phil: USC, 30-21 18.4 points A lot of good games in this first real week of the season, including this one. Auburn has a very good team, and USC, as usual, has lots of talent. I think QB Carson Palmer should get the job done for the Trojans in this one. UAB at Florida (6), (7) Saturday 6:00 PM ET Final Score: Florida, 51-3 GUEST SAGE STEFAN: Florida, 38-3 14.8 points Harmon: Florida, 42-17 12.6 points CFN: Florida, 55-10 18 points Joe: Florida, 48-9 17 points Stupid Florida teams are always so stacked! My first look at my Heisman pick, Rex Grossman, I will be watching a lot of this, even though it won't be as good as others. Watch for Earnest Graham to get more carries than normal under new coach Ron Zook. He will go absolutely berserk. I think he'll scare Miami into stopping the run, and then once they get there, whip out the "fun 'n gun" that they've had all along but didn't need to reveal. Florida lost a great receiver in Jabar Gaffney. That matters as much as the Pistons recently signing second round draft pick, Mehmet Okur. This team constantly has WRs capable of being NFL receivers on some of the less deep teams. G: Florida, 55-10 18 points this is Joe. I'll be scanning the sidelines hard for ya, G. you should wear something that stands out. Like an armband. Or maybe a gray coat. Or a pink afro. I'll look for one of the three. Phil: Florida, 63-14 17.4 points This appears to be a mismatch, but UAB's defense has been strong recently. However, there are a lot of starters to replace. Florida opens up the Ron Zook era needing a big win against a team like this. Actually, in this situation, this is a mismatch. Grossman and the Gators should roll. Clemson (37), (38) at Georgia (8), (12) Saturday 7:45 PM ET Final Score: Georgia, 31-28 GUEST SAGE STEFAN: Georgia, 21-6 13.2 points Harmon: Georgia, 24-10 14.2 points CFN: Georgia, 31-24 18.4 points Joe: Georgia, 31-14 14.4 points Jowjah. That's all that needs to be said here. But if I must elaborate, Hot-lanta, Dirty South. G: Georgia, 35-24 17.6 points G likes Georgia. He loves ACC and knows a lot about Clemson. I feel so inadequate trying to replicate anything he could have said. Maybe something about the strength of the SEC or something. Phil: Georgia, 38-27 17 points Hey, hey Willie! Willie Simmons! Trying to be Woody! Woody Dantzler! Clemson's new starting QB could pile up yardage this day, but Georgia seems to have their strongest team in a while, and they should be able to outscore them. continued. |
