Traverse City Review
This show was at a
casino and we got there early enough to sit in the bar
and listen to John warming up. He did Tears, which I had never heard him do
live before and Suicide Life (another personal fav).
John came on stage in a very nice grey pinstripe suit! Looked very handsome and relaxed. I
can't remember all the songs, but the set list was quite the same as he does now. However,
this was also the first I heard him play Whenever She Comes Around. Which is quite
spellbinding.I couldn't quite picture him singing this song, but he does it beautifully.
After the concert, we made our way back to the hotel only to discover
John's bus was parked out front. Someone gave him a red stuffed animal at
the concert and it was sitting in the front, so we knew the bus was for
John.
We waited in the lobby and Chris (John's manager) told us to go in the bar
of the hotel because John was going to play a few quick numbers with the
band that was playing there! Too cool!
They played Led Zeps Rock n Roll and Midnight Rendezvous. After they were
done, I approached John with a couple of things I wanted him to sign and hegraciously did
so! Then the best part, we were heading back to our rooms to
relax and bumped into John and Chris in the hall! These photos were taken
by Chris.
It was quite a memorable experience!
