The JohnsJohn Potty Patrol inspected this McDonald's (store #26)located at 4320 N. Cicero, Chicago, IL (near corner of Montrose and Cicero) on Thursday, July 12, 2001 at 2:30pm. JohnsJohn rates these restrooms an 8 on a scale of ten. We took off two points because of the gang graffiti on the ceiling. Otherwise, nice job. Keep up the good work. We hope to find conditions have improved when we return for a follow up inspection. JohnsJohn Potty Deputy #135

The JohnsJohn "Potty Patrol" spotted a mess here and rates this Amoco restroom a ZERO on a scale of 10. Amoco Gasoline 312 East Jefferson Joliet, IL 60435 (815) 725-1658 This is all you get for both men and women at this AMOCO gas station just outside of Chicago off of Interstate 55. Notice the gang graffiti on the upper right hand part of the picture, the sink doesn't have handles and the door was falling off. By the way, this is NOT an AMOCO affiliate. This is one of AMOCO's corporate stores. You can call AMOCO toll free at 1-800-333-3991 and tell them you don't approve. Potty Deputy #772

The Johns John Patty Patrol inspected this Amoco gas station public restroom on June 30th, 2001 at 2:49pm. We don't approve of what we found here. We rate the men's room a FIVE on a scale of TEN. Can you see the problem? If you can't, we'll point it out at the end. This Amoco (Jensens Amoco) is located at 600 W. Prairie in Odell, Illinois. This Amoco has one restroom for men and another for women. That's good. The toilet, floors, and store attendant uniforms were dirty. Also, no paper towels (only hand drier). Did you spot the problem in the picture? It's the urinal. It's too close to the sink. We recommend a wall separating the two. Don't wash your hands when someone flushes the urinal. Studies show you'll get a face full of microscopic bacteria too small to see with the naked eye. Potty Deputy #854

The JohnsJohn Potty Patrol inspected this Burger King (773-777-0626)located at 4125 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, IL on Thursday, July 12, 2001 at 3:27pm. JohnsJohn rates these restrooms a 2 on a scale of ten. We don't approve of the small size, dirty floor and trash. Why is there a sheet of plastic in the men's toilet? This BK has about 3 dozen tables and the smallest restrooms considering the size of the business. The men's room (from left to right) included a urinal, sink and toilet, each only about two inches apart. The restroom measured about 8 feet across and only about 3 and half feet wide. We had trouble backing up to take these pictures. We also don't approve of the manager (Emily) handling money and food at the same time. She told us "it's necessary to move product." We don't agree. JohnsJohn inspected the public restrooms at theBudweiser Brewery in St. Louis, MO. This is the men's room at the end of the tour. We're happy to say we're happy with what we found and rate this restroom at ten, our highest rating. Still not Ohare Airport but very good. Potty Deputy #351

The JohnsJohn Potty Patrol rates this Hardee'srestroom a ZERO on a scale of TEN. Your location on Market Street (309-828-2252) in Bloomington, IL is unacceptable. The floors were flooded from backed up toilets. There was also wet newspaper and tissue littering the stalls and the urinals, toilets and sinks were dirty. Potty Deputy #349

The JohnsJohn Potty Patrol was asked to investigate the public restrooms at this Home Depot (Store #1908) and here's a sample of what we found on July 5, 2001 at 8:16pm. We rate this men's room a ZERO. The obvious problem is the filth you can see. What you can't see are the dirty sinks and toilets not flushed. This is unacceptable. Potty Deputy #755

The JohnsJohn Potty Patrol rates this Amoco a ZERO. This Amoco (Fred's Amoco) at 2801 S. Pulaski Road in Chicago, Illinois doesn't provide its customers public restrooms. A woman writes the following (and we agree): This is outrageous! On July 4th, 2001 at 2:19pm, my little girl needed to use the toilet. We stopped expecting to find a restroom. I had to hurry my child back into the car and look for another business where she could go. I buy your gas and you can't provide a public restroom? Shame on you Amoco. I've since starting buying my gas from Shell. Thanks JohnsJohn for giving us a place to voice our complaints. Maria S. Chicago, IL IMPORTANT FOLLOW-UP: Visit our section on Toilet law and find out what law makers are saying about this sort of thing in Chicago. JohnsJohn Potty Deputy #135

The JohnsJohn Potty Patrol visited this Fast Stop gas station restroom on 7-01-01 at 4:16pm. JohnsJohn rates this restroom a ZERO. This Fast Stop is located at 204 N. Jefferson, Towanda, IL 61776. The restroom was filthy. What's especially difficult to deal with here is the FECES on the toilet and on the paper towels on top of the overflowing trash can. Look closely and I'm sure you can see what we're talking about. The sink, walls and floors were also very dirty. Our users also say they don't like condom machines in public restrooms. They say they shouldn't have to explain it to their kids. This restroom is unacceptable and we're glad to bring you the evidence. Potty Deputy #782

This is the men's room at the ESPN Zone restaurant in Chicago. We like the idea of TVs in the stalls and above the urinals. Now keep the restrooms clean. We've had a few bad reports but they were clean when we inspected. We give you a ten, our highest rating mostly for creativity. We promise to lower your rating if we get any more bad reports. We realize anyone can have a bad day. Potty Deputy #499
