This is the strip where I begin to introduce Taiping's amazing enthusiasm for medicine. It's almost inevitable that there will be such a person in every group of students. The one person who embraces medicine whole heartedly and churns down journal after journal, textbooks after textbooks to quench his insatiable thirst for knowledge. Personally, there is this fellow in my group whom all of us have grown to love, despite his incredible lack of insight into most things (like never admitting to his studious nature, denying his own knowledge - "I don't know"). The traits in this Taiping's character are no doubt exaggerated but only for comical effect. Actually, looking back, I can't seem to remember why we were (and still are) so hung up about him and digital rectal examination (DRE). But very vaguely I think it has got something to do with the dummy pelvic model on which we practice our DRE on.
