| We went with the boat Yolita from the company Galasam. It is economy class so the standard is low and that was understood from the beginning. However, even economy class have some standards to live up to. There was no radar on the boat. There should be. There was only one radio system, there should be two for redundancy. There was not supposed to be hot water. However, there was not cold water either. I did not shower for a week. The toilets were flushed with sea water in buckets by the crew once per day. Yucky if you share toilet. One crew member was drunk one evening and harassed one of the female tourists. We had two motor break downs in one week, delaying our schedule. The speed on the boat was reduced from 8 to 5 knots, resulting in very long travel times. The noice from the machine was so loud that it was not possible to talk in the dining room or in the cabins. The noisy generator was put on deck, making conversations impossible. Yolita had 13 passangers on a boat for 12. A constant smell of diesel in the cabins. Private toilets were promised in their pamphlet, this was only the case for two of six double rooms. Safety regulations were not followed. Life jackets were not used, although stated by the regulations. There were not enough life jackets for the passengers in the cabins. |
