There are things that the normal tourist to the islands do not get to know. Local fishermen are wiping out the sea cucumbers, introduced pigs and goats in abundance overrun the islands, illegal hunting and harvesting are rampant and a corrupt ecuadorian government does little to protect the area. The managers in the tourist business do nothing, except charging visitors.
