ACHIEVEMENTS
Owner, Operator, Sales
Created a small
business in order to manage the manufacture and distribution
of telescopes and telescope accessories for the amateur
astronomy market. Managed legal, financial, tax, salary and
profit reporting in the state of Oklahoma.
Sole proprieter purchased and
maintained production equipment. Constructed and tested all
telescopes. Managed purchasing of material, quality control,
distribution and warehousing. Worked
with distributors and customers to sell telescopes and
telescope parts. Managed pricing and supply chain to
maximize profit.

$500,000 annually
(mostly material and labor)
Reason For Leaving:
No benefits for a
growing family. Small, niche market for amateur astronomy
could not sustain growth. Better opportunities in
manufacturing prompted a career change to Seagate Technology
in 1988.
