Episode 54: Tessaiga's Ultimate Attack, Bakuryuuha
Spoiler

Episode 53 Recap: The Tessaiga suppresses Inuyasha's youkai blood, and keeps him from transforming. If Inuyasha cannot wield the fang, then he will surely be taken over by his youkai blood once again. To make Tessaiga lighter, Inuyasha is to kill Ryuukotsusei who was sealed by Inuyasha's father. The only way to defeat Ryuukotsusei, is to use the attack Bakuryuuha; the ultimate attack for Tessaiga. Injured in the battle, Inuyasha lay on the ground, his body pulsing as his youkai blood begins to take him over once more.

This episode starts off with Ryuukotsusei coming towards Inuyasha to "end his suffering." Kagome and the others, also accompanied by Toutousai and Myoga, realize that Inuyasha isn't holding Tessaiga. Kagome screams for Inuyasha to open his eyes, while Ryuukotsusei stops noticing that the youki surrounding Inuyasha is different now than it was before. The lightning youkai is amused by the awakening of Inuyasha's blood, and deems that the battle will be much more interesting now.

Inuyasha serves his first attack, causing blood to come from a slash he served on Ryuukotsusei's neck. Flying nearby, as Kagome calls out for him. Toutousai watches the battle noting that Inuyasha may survive transformed as such for a while... but he will not be able to defeat Ryuukotsusei without Tessaiga. Inuyasha attacks the lightning youkai once more, laughing quite menacingly while Ryuukotsusei tells him not to be so arrogant before serving him another attack. Inuyasha dodges it quite well before turning around and sending Ryuukotsusei flying into the canyon.

It appears that Inuyasha has defeated the lightning youkai, and Toutousai and Myoga attempt to make a run for it. However Kagome refuses to abandon him, even fighting his his transformed state. As Kagome argues for Toutousai to drop her off, Inuyasha is below fighting with his youkai blood. Fully transformed, he painfully struggles towards the Tessaiga tired of his transformations. Ryuukotsusei takes his chance to attack, and sends a ball of lightning hurling it at Inuyasha. In the nick of time, Inuyasha holds up the sheath of Tessaiga and diverts the attack, however it was such a powerful attack that the sheath cannot take anymore. Ryuukotsusei sends another lightning attack, and Miroku opens up the Kazaana, and barely diverts it into the canyon. He used up a good deal of power and energy for one little interference.

This gave Inuyasha the time he needed to get to the fang, and he grips hold of Tessaiga. His youki starts dissipating, and Inuyasha is back to his old self again. The Tessaiga transforms, and Inuyasha struggles to lift it, as the fang is still way to heavy to wield. Ryuukotsusei laughs at him, calling Tessaiga a weak sword... Inuyasha grips the fang tighter, stating that fighting without Tessaiga would be pointless. Suddenly, Tessaiga starts to become  lighter; and as Inuyasha starts running towards Ryuukotsusei, the lightning youkai sends another attack which does little. Inuyasha flies right at him, and thrusts Tessaiga into his chest, where his heart is. Ryuukotsusei is stunned momentarily, but soon he is attacking again. Tessaiga is light as a feather now, and Inuyasha jumps out of the way quickly. Attack after attack follows, and Toutousai reveals that Ryuukotsusei will only die when his body is shattered into pieces.
