Episode 52: Irresistible! The Youkai's True Nature
Spoiler

Episode 51 Recap: Inuyasha is seriously wounded by the moth youkai, Gatenmaru. He and Miroku are trapped inside a poisonous cocoon that has been spun from the youkai's mouth.

The episode opens showing the bandits scattered throughout the village, the poisonous cocoon in the background. The bandits had done severe damage to the village, apparently leaving none alive with the exception of the women, and a little boy and his grandfather whom were rescued outside the village by Inuyasha in the previous episode.  The scene changes to two of the bandits bringing a large container of sake to Gatenmaru, and they threaten one of the women to come and pour the liquor for their leader. She does with trembling hands, and the moth youkai takes a drink before gloating about how weak Inuyasha has become.

Miroku is holding onto the holy barrier that is keeping himself and the injured Inuyasha alive, however he is starting to weaken, and the barrier isn't going to hold out much longer. Inuyasha is furious and his eyes begin to change from amber to red and back again. Another woman from the small group is thrust at Gatenmaru, and he pulls her kimono down off her shoulders before darting his tongue out,  piercing her throat. The woman can do naught about it, and the youkai sucks her body dry of all fluids.

This angers Inuyasha to the point where he thrusts foreword against Miroku's staff regardless of his injuries.  He stops short of the houshi having to hold him back, and his body shudders violently as it reacts to the poison from his wounds. Gatenmaru threatens to eat every last one of the women while Inuyasha is powerless to stop him, the old man that they had saved lay on the ground nearby. Risking his own death, he jumps up and attempts to take the Tessaiga to Inuyasha, however he's stopped by two of the bandits who begin beating him.  This continues to anger Inuyasha, and while his eyes continue to pulse and glow red, a growl forms in his throat as he's forced to watch the bandits beat on the old man, and almost kill him as well when Kagome and Sango show up with Shippou, Kirara and the young boy. The child runs over to his grandfather, collapsing on top of him. One of the bandits, merely pulls back his spear in an effort to kill both the old man and his grandson.  However, Sango intervenes, and saves their lives. (Thank goodness ^_^) Kagome runs over to see if she can be any help, when the old man hands her the Tessaiga. In that instant she knows that something is wrong with Inuyasha.

Calling out for him, Kagome looks about when Gatenmaru takes an interest in her. He stands up and orders the bandits to bring her over to him. (What is it about that girl that makes men want her?) This turns out to be a huge mistake, it being the last straw forcing Inuyasha to transform into his youkai state; all the while poor Miroku is in there with him.  Inuyasha  breaks through the poisonous cocoon,  and begins to slaughter the bandits; several at one time I might add.

Bodies are flying everywhere, Kagome is sitting back with the others holding Tessaiga; unable to return the fang.  Inuyasha's growl is deep and menacing, and he turns his head to look over his shoulder as he hears Gatenmaru walking towards him. The moth youkai transforms into his true form (which is quite ugly I might add, not that he was attractive before... but keh.) Inuyasha smiles wickedly as Gatenmaru attempts to dispose of him by making a giant yellow tornado with his wings. Inuyasha easily breaks through the tornado, and slashes off both of the moth's wings. Gatenmaru cannot understand why Inuyasha's blood smells like that of a full youkai, and he again tries to kill him with a poisonous cocoon of sorts. He takes a moment to gloat, however too soon when Inuyasha appears out of nowhere and serves the final blow, an angry and gruff voice replaces the usual snotty tone the hanyou usually carries, "You worthless trash!"
