for using some of the chapter's newer online tools.
Two
Yahoo Groups have been built for members to find information,
share documents and exchange news and conversation. Since
Groups can only be accessed through individual passwords
and since only invited members can join a group, more information
can be shared on a group than this public Web site. Features

What
is the difference between our two groups?
-- jocomothersandmore
will serve as the chapter's mailing list to distribute information
and "official" news. jocomothersandmore-talk
has been created to encourage members to chat, share ideas,
unofficial news or local sale alerts, and to generally have
fun! Both groups offer mailing lists, online calendars,
file sharing, polls, bookmarks and more.
How
do I join the Greater Johnson County Yahoo Groups?
-- All current and new members as they come will receive
an email inviation to join our two Groups. Follow the directions
in the email to participate in the Groups. (If you didn't
receive an invitation, or changed your mind about joining,
send email to [email protected])
This registers you for the email loop only.
How
do I get to the Groups' Web features like the calendar?
To access the online calendar and other features, you must
then go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jocomothersandmore
and create a Yahoo account if you don't already have one.
You must then "link" or "convert" your
regular email address to your Yahoo account. Follow these
steps to do this:

Look
for the Join Now! box on the far right, underneath the
blue bar. Click on the "Conversion Wizard" link.
- Under
the Grey bar that says "Don't have a password? Forgot
your password?" type your email address into the box,
and click "Continue". Yahoo will now send you
an email that includes an "authorization code".
Wait for the email to arrive before continuing.
- Now
complete the form by filling in the authorization code contained
in the email OR just follow the directions and links in
the email.
- Now
go back to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jocomothersandmore.
Log in if you need to and the group should recognize you
as a member.
- Go
back and repeat for http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jocomothersandmore-talk
if needed.
What
if I don't want to get a lot more email? -- You can
still join the groups and benefit from online calandar,
file sharing etc. without necessarily participating in the
email conversations. Once you have followed the directions
above for accessing the Group on the Web you can change
your membership parameters to receive either "no email"
or "only special announcements".
Only
special messages
- will only allow messages from group moderators through
to your mailbox. Moderators will be Mothers and More leadership
only, so this is a good way to filter your email and receive
only the most important announcement/newsy emails.
No
email
- will prevent any messages from group members or the group
moderators from coming to you. You will still be able to
see messages if you visit the Group homepage on the Web,
or by visiting the message archives.
Follow
these steps to do this:

Under
"Message Delivery" select either "Only
Special Announcements" or "No Email".
- Click
the "Save Changes" button.
- Go
back and repeat for http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jocomothersandmore-talk
if needed.
How
do I leave the Yahoo Group?
Any member can leave the group anytime by following these
steps:
- Go
to the Group homepage (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jocomothersandmore)
and click on the "Leave Group" link under the
"Membership" box in the Upper right corner of
the page.
- Click
on the "Leave Group" button at the bottom of the
page. OR
- Simply
send email to [email protected]
- Go
back and repeat for http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jocomothersandmore-talk
if needed.
