Sending Text to Xcode
By far, the most important feature of the Chronicle Plugin is it's ability to paste the text contents of your Chronicle Files into the current Xcode text document. Chronicle allows you to maintain any number of text files in your Files List, which can easily be "sent" to the frontmost Xcode text document.

Sending text to Xcode from the Files list...
The text of a Chronicle file can be sent to the frontmost Xcode document directly from the Files List. You do not need to open the file in the Editor to perform a send operation.
Important: Begining in Chronicle version 0.9.5, the "Send" item in the toolbar is no longer a popup button-style menu. It now behaves as a button, with the Send menu available as a contextual menu for the button to provide added Sending features.
To send text from the Files List, first select (highlight) a file in the Files List that you wish to send. To perform a basic Send operation (i.e. to the insertion point/selection of the frontmost Xcode text document) simply click the "Send" button in the Chronicle toolbar. If you would like to customize the type of Send operation you would like to perform, you can control-/right-click or click & hold the Send button to pop up the Send contextual menu, which provides access to all of the alternative Send types. If there is a qualifying text document open in Xcode, the ENTIRE TEXT of the selected Chronicle file will be inserted into the Xcode document, according to the type of send operation you have selected.

Sending text to Xcode from the Editor...
The text of a Chronicle file can be sent to the frontmost Xcode document while viewing the file in the File Editor. Sending text from the Editor allows you to have more control over what portion of the Chronicle File's text is sent to Xcode. If only a portion of the file's text is selected, only that selection will be sent to the Xcode text document. If there is no selection in the Chronicle Editor, the entire file text will be sent to the active Xcode document.
Important: Begining in Chronicle version 0.9.5, the "Send" item in the toolbar is no longer a popup button-style menu. It now behaves as a button, with the Send menu available as a contextual menu for the button to provide added Sending features.
To send text from the File Editor, select the text you wish to send in the Editor (if only a selection is desired). If there is a qualifying text document open in Xcode, the appropriate text will be inserted into the file, according to the type of send operation you have selected.
