Elk Hair Caddis: When caddis are hatching fish generally focus all their attention on them. This is a great patter to have during mid-summer to the end of fall. Fish it not only as you would a general dry fly but also let it swing down stream and pull it back towards you skimming it across the surface since caddis drop their eggs by skimming the surface of the water. Usually effective more towards the evening.
