Here are both radar towers, with the operations center visible on the left side of the picture.  At night, one could see the lights of nearby Keflavik to the southeast, and Sanguerdi (I'm not sure if that is spelled correctly - probably not) to the west from the search radar tower (where I was a technician).

One thing I really regret was not getting a picture of the northern lights, which were a regular fixture in the sky during the winter.  Unfortunately, though, I neither had a decent camera nor really thought about asking someone else for copies of shots they took.  In contrast to Iceland summers, in the winters the sun would appear sometime around 12:30 p.m. and be gone by 3:00 p.m., so it was never really completely light.
