Standard IV: Assessment and Evaluation

Teachers apply technology to facilitate a variety of effective assessment and evaluation strategies

What Teachers Should be Able to do:

  1. Apply technology in assessing student learning of subject matter using a variety of assessment techniques.
  2. Use technology resources to collect and analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings to improve instructional practice and maximize student learning.
  3. Apply multiple methods of evaluation to determine students’ appropriate use of technology resources for learning, communication, and productivity.

How this Standard Relates to TRED 701:

This standard goes beyond keeping track of grades in a spreadsheet. It specifically addresses the use of technology to actually assess student performance. It also includes the assessment of how well students are coming to grips with new technologies. Some of the TRED 701 projects could be modified as classroom activities to see how well students are doing. They could be used to allow students to demonstrate knowledge in alternative ways.
