Share an adventure with an amateur boat builder as he builds a Prameke PK78 Dinghy!

Snow today. Snow yesterday. My friend Randy volunteered to take me with his truck to get my wood and said
"Just put your lines on the wood, I'll cut 'em out for ya"! I can't turn that down. He's really good with wood
and has all the right tools. But I'll wait until the weather breaks.
Well, the wife and I decided to get started on the boat today anyway. We decided to make full size patterns of all the
parts so that when we get to Randy's with the wood we can quickly trace and cut. One quick trip to our mini Walmart and
I returned with 2 packs of poster board.

I marked the lines with colored markers to make it easier to trace each part.

Then we spread lead on the back of the pattern lines. This is the same technique
we used for building the Prameke model.

Here is a traced bottom panel section.

And this is the entire bottom panel. I cross checked measurements with the plans
and everything seems to be within a 16th of an inch.
While making full size patterns would be uneccesary for an experienced boat builder,
I think this will work well for us.
