The wife and I bought our wood yesterday! We found some real nice exterior AC at the local lumberyard. We decided to toss it on top of the car and cut it up on our dining room table.

2 sheets of 1/4", and 2 sheets of 3/8" cost me $130.00. It is very nice wood, almost a shame to cover it with paint.

Here's Claire taping down some patterns on the 3/8ths.

Claire is cutting out a knee with our $29.99 Skil jigsaw from Ace Hardware.

The cheap jigsaw turned out to be good enough for this job. The blade that came with it was a quick cut (something like that), but I went and got some medium type blades that cut much smoother. Yes, I planned on having Randy do the cutting, but I just wanted to do it myself anyway.

Using the dinning area in our little apartment as a workshop has really not been too messy. The sawdust sweeps right up. I covered the entertainment center with plastic sheeting and at the end of the day there was a slight trace of dust on it. Claire vacumed the furniture and dusted everything. Looks good as new.

We got all the 3/8ths cut today; tomorrow we'll cut the hull sides and bottom panels. I'm thinking we'll start stitching her up tomorrow as well!
