Welcome to my 1997 Camaro SS Site! I found this car on Trader Online in April of this year; it was located in Warren , Michigan, and had been in storage since it was new. The owner, Paul, had only put about 9500 miles on the car, and obviously had taken very good car of it. I had originally been looking for a stock, or near-stock SS to modify, but Paul had already done a lot of the hard work for me, including a Lingenfelter/Accel cam, Lingenfelter CNC Ported heads, and tons of suspension modifications. The car looked deceptively stock under the hood, with a K&N filter and an LG Motorsports strut tower brace being the only obvious modifications. It sounded pretty good through the SLP exhaust, but it was quieter than I would have expected; the dreaded "Cone of Silence" had been installed at the factory, choking the performance and sound level. After the test drive, I was sold...power was excellent, and the handling was unlike any F-body I have ever seen! Paul really did his homework before making any changes. Most people would have left this car alone, but not me... I saw it as a great starting point ! |
