Pantaleon Herrera Sr. was the son of Matías Herrera and Candida Sanchez. He married Santos Cadena Valdez in Pleasanton (Atascosa County near Bexar County) on March 5,1873. She was the daughter of Eusebio Valdez and Dionicia Cadena.
Some of their children are born in Pleasanton. The rest were born in Jimenez or perhaps even in San Matias, they included:
Juan, Féliz, Monico, Ynés, Guillermo, and Pantaleon Jr. Pantaleon Sr. died sometime in 1900, as when Panta Jr. was registered in January 1901, his older brother Juan was doing so "on behalf of his deceased father".
