Fall Semester 2003
Saturday: First frisbee games against other teams. We played Woffard first, we jumped out to a 4-1 lead. Then they remembered how to play and came back to lead 7-5. We lost 10-7. The guy who caught the game winner made a hella dive while Matt was supposed to be guarding him. He did the same thing to me earlier. I made a nice tiptoe grab in the endzone for a score, one of my two nice plays of the day. The other came when we played USC-Spartanburg. I made my long run, but was guarded well, the guy swatted the frisbee so I couldn't catch it, but it stayed up. I then made a desperation dive to catch it, and brought it in. Then I stood up and threw the touchdown to Ardis, pure sweetness. Took a lot of self-control not to start screaming like I do when I finally make a sensational play. It doesn't happen very often, I should've celebrated. We jumped out 9-1 and won 10-3; they only have 2 guys who can throw. We played cards that night in the lobby, just us Yankees: me, Larry, Matt, Carrie, and later on Aaron B. The said you should play cards with the devil, but they kept letting me play. It's ok though, I can play the role of the devil. Although the whole raping Carrie thing took it a little too far, but that's a whole other story.
Sunday: Cards again: Larry, Matt, and I. I taught Larry and Matt the game of wifebeater, Larry was very pleased. And you can see the implications of beating Matt's wife, something Larry got cold looks for when he made the comment about it.
Cowgate Update: Art has finally given in and has asked where and when he will be able to get his cow back.
Volleyball on Monday and Tuesday night, good times, although I can't remember much of them. I know I have discovered how much I have learned about volleyball this year, especially from watching intramurals. I can sort of spike, I can set on occasion, bumping need improvemnt, and digging, well, I've always done that.
Tuesday night: I took Manny to Dunkin Donuts, to find the lobby to be closed, so we went to Waffle House instead. Paying in change, what? Man, I hope I have that $5. Yeah, let's invite Jared so he can not pay. Those last 3 statements are funny to me, it's nice to be on the inside for those inside jokes. So we sat at the light at Mt. Gallant for a long while, 3 minutes. The line of cars behind us was like 4 cars long. I said: "Does that car behind us have lights on it?" Manny heard: "The car behind us has lights on it." I proceded to drive through the red light, like it was a stop sign. Manny, and I quote, "Almost crapped his pants." I thought it was funny.

Cowgate Update: Art has received his letter from Kat, detailing the procedure he is to follow to retrieve his bovine. I can say this here because I no longer have to pretend I'm not involved. I'm sure Art figured out from a) the handwriting on the envelope and b) the fact that I'm the only one with enough time to drive to York to mail a letter, which was postmarked Charlotte anyway, blast you Postal Service!, so yeah, he's knows I'm behind this last bit of the plot. I currently have him running around campus on a scavenger hunt for notes. We'll see how long he keeps that up.
Lunch on Wednesday: One word: Chili's. I wasn't in a boy band for nothing.
Wednesday night: So, as I'm walking back from putting the note on Mere's car at 12:30 in the morning, Art comes out of the ACC. Personally, I think he should have known I was up to no good, since there is only one reason why I would be walking around campus alone at that hour: mischief. Anyways, I was hungry, and suggested we go to Waffle House. And we went, and had long conversation about, yes you guessed it, relationships. It seems to be our most salient topic, to use political science terms, and it is a very important one, since relationships with other people completely dominate your life. We're both in a stage of figuring out what we want in a relationship, although his is more practical and mine is more theoretical. We've both had similar experiences in high school, and both know what a relationship should NOT be. And the fact that he and I are both prone to complete and utter overanalysis of such things is somewhat comforting. Anyways, relationships are a point of severe conflict for me because I go through periods of extreme jealousy and yearning to be involved, and I also have the deeper and more intelectual periods of figuring out that what I really want to extract out of a relationship, I can get just by hanging out with friends, no deeper connections or involvements needed. It's amazing how philosophical and profound we can get at 1 am at Waffle House.
Thursday: Well, after driving back from Waffle House, parking, walking Art back to his room, I then went to my room, got the needed materials, went back to my car, drove to the other side of campus, parked and left a note. I then walked back across campus and finally got to bed around 2. Art's letter arrived this morning, and it better have a different post mark on it, or I'll be pissed. He's gone through the first point, and took the sign on my door. I'm about to make another one. Then I'll go see if he's gone to see Chris or Mere's car yet. They don't call me Satan for nothing.

Thursday Night: Yeah, so Art not only took the note, but Mere's antenna. Here is where I'm supposed to feel guilt, as I am the person who set this all up. And amazingly enough, I do feel a little guilty. Blast! So yeah, more playing Wifebeater with Larry and Matt. Then we watched End of Days with Ahnold. It was a pretty good movie, another very interesting religious movie. I do object to Satan taking the body of a clean-shaven guy. I think they should have consulted me before hand.
Friday: Some competitive games of frisbee. We were down 10-5 playing to eleven, fought back to 10-10, with me being on the field the whole time, wheezing with a stitch in my side, at least until the adrenalin kicked in. We lost 12-10, but man I was fired up. The second game we went up 6-1 and won 7-5. Then I played campus wide capture the flag. First off, Ponds just disappeared, he was creeping and crawling his way to the flag. Second, the twins cheated by laying pretty much on the flag, kinda hard to steal it when somebody's standing on it. I was pissed off about this. Here I am, running decoys left and right, running through the President's yard, and to no avail. There lucky I had to walk all the way across campus because they were about to be cussed out big time. It was the first time I have been really pissed in a while, probably since the Big South Baseball Tournament. Then we played volleyball, at least until Jimmy had to leave. Then, the group of Charles, Chasen, Manny, Jake, Erik, and Jared went to Waffle House, and then back to Erik's to play NHL Hitz. An interesting game to say the least. Although the game froze in the middle of our championship game while it was tied. And then, it was now, 3 am in the morning, frisbee again in 11 hours.
