Environmental Librarian

Welcome to my Web Page!

My name is Jane E. Gaffney and I am an Environmental Librarian at the United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 2 Library located in downtown New York City, an area of great historical interest (see New York City Landmarks). I live in Douglaston, N.Y., also an historical area, located in Northeast Queens, on Little Neck Bay, with a beautiful view of the Throgs Neck Bridge.

I created this web site so that I could inform others about current environmental issues which affect the way we live and to present topics which are of interest to the general public. I will also provide various links in order to enable research on environmental topics.

Environmental Librarianship requires a broad knowledge of many topics-chemistry, biology, geography, geology, ecology and many specific topics-hydrology, waste management and others. In order to facilitate communication among environmental librarians, I have also presented topics of interest to them- organizations and discussion groups.

Finally, I have added a list of links to various  sites of environmental interest in the Metropolitan New York Area

Please also check out My Interests section, where I discuss My Favorite Photographers ,  New York City Landmarks and Felines
