The Environment

The 21st century has arrived, and environmental issues are at the forefront of the news. From genetically modified foods to global warming, our environment cannot be ignored if we wish to pass on a sustainable world to our children. In the following pages, I present an overview of  some aspects of environmental science that should be of interest to anyone who wishes to increase their knowledge of  this topic and become environmentally aware.

  • Issues  - A discussion of some of the most significant issues that impact our environment:

  • Research - A hyperlinked list of the most valuable sources.

  • Librarians - A discussion of Environmental Librarianship. Also, a list of resources of interest to environmental librarians-professional organizations, publications, listservs.

  • Nature Sites  - A list of some nature sites in the Greater Metropolitan New York area- parks, wetlands, wildlife sanctuaries.
