GEORGETOWN, the center city of Penang. Penang island was found by an British trader, Francis Light in 1786. At that time, it was just a small fishing village with few residents. As a strategic location for port in Strait of Malacca, this tiny island has developed quickly to be an important business center in South East Asia and attracted many foreigners, especially Chinese migrates and settle down for a peaceful heaven. Penang is known as Pearl of The Orient.
Nowadays, Penang is the second biggest city in Malaysia. The population consists of Chinese, Malays, Hindu and generations of mix-marriage like Nonya, Mamak and Serani. Therefore, Penang has its unique historical building which were built as old as 100 years or more. Besides, many visitors come to Penang just because of its variety hawkers' food. Don't miss it if you have chance to step in Penang.
