When did you first hear about POISON? 1986, I first heard Poison on the radio. Most fans first heard/saw them on MTV. I fell in love before I ever saw them. Once I saw them I fell in love with Rikki.
Why Rikki? Well, he had an incredible sense of energy. Loved his hair, his lips, his eyes, his movements. Wow!! I bought every magazine I could get my hands on, I still have them all too. I found out how artistic he is, very appealing to me. He was into skateboarding, major appeal there too. I seemed to have so much in common with him right down to love for movies of gore.
Why is POISON so special to you? My senior year in high school I lost my dad. I was adopted at age 16 and never had a dad before. My adopted mom and I didn't get along. So there I was trapped in hell. Then I caught my boyfriend cheating on me. I lost it and tried to kill myself. It was all too much, too soon. I took a bottle of asprin. Guess it wasn't my time. I suffered through a horrible recovery and I still have side effects from the asprin. During my down time I stayed to myself in my room. I ended up missing some school. Nothing to do but dwell on my problems more. So I started my drawing and poetry back up to keep my mind busy. I listened to my Poison tapes, stared at all my posters, read my magazines. Got to thinking about my future and what I wanted. What I wanted was to meet Rikki Rockett. So, that is what I focused on. He was my reason to live and now he is the reason that I am alive. Although the credit goes to them all. I love these guys.
Why did you name your cat after Rikki? I got Rikki Lynn about a month after my suicide attempt. A guy friend of mine gave him to me. His middle name was Lynn so, it only seemed fair I added that. He knew I was troubled and he knew cats are my favorite animal. My mom said no way in hell was I gonna have a cat. Who listens to their parents anyway, right? Rikki was small enough to hide on my shoulders under my hair. He eventually got too big to do that with and my mom found out about him. She fell in love and let me keep him. When he passed away, I think she was just as heartbroken as I was. I named him Rikki because of my adoration for Mr. Rockett and to remind me that there is always something to live for. He was my best friend. I miss him dearly.
What other bands/artists do you like? There are so many but, Poison will always be #1 in my heart. AC/DC, Babylon Bombs, Aerosmith, KISS, Alice Cooper, Matchbox 20, Dangerous Toys, Led Zeppelin, Motley Crue, Cinderella, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Loverboy. The list goes on.
What is the story with your screen name? I chose this screen name cause I'm a sex freak. *laugh* No, seriously, besides the sex freak part, Jezebel was the name of Rikki's old Hummer and 69 is the year of his camaro. Put 'em together and it makes one hell of an attention grabber for the guys.
Have you ever been to a POISON show or met any members? Sadly, no.
If/when you get to meet Rikki, what will you say to him? Ummmm, duuuhh, ummm. I'll probably stutter and make a fool of myself right before I puke on him. If I can muster the words, I will say thank you. |
