In Loving Memory
Rikki Lynn Rockett

Ode to Rikki Lynn
You were a feline above all others
Who else gives mice & birds as gifts to their mothers
In your younger days you'd play, scratch, and bite
In your older days you'd rather love than fight
With your soft purr and silent meow
We had our own language, we understood somehow
A friend that never judged but always listened
You made my darkness seem to glisten
You were my best furry friend, so until we reunite
You will be my guiding light
I love you, Rikki Lynn

Flashbacks
Rikki kicked an opossum's ass!
At one point in time he weighed over 13 pounds.
I cried when I had him neutered and still have the receipt from that day.
He would leave chipmunk heads and dead birds on my patio.
The first Christmas after I got married, Rikki put a dead mouse under the tree skirt.
He was so small when I got him that he couldn't jump onto my bed. I taught him to climb up the side.
At night Rikki would get next to my face and put his paw across my neck.
He loved getting his hair brushed.
I had to nurse him through two pellet shots to his head, a snake bite, and a ruptured cyst on his chest.
Rikki would calmly sit when my daughter learned facial features by tugging his ears. "Ear, Ear, Ear"
Rikki loved to eat lettuce. He also liked popcorn.
I used a special whistle to call him. He always came runnin'.
When ever I got a new kitten, Rikki would let the kitten nurse on him. I always thought that was odd.
Rikki is the only animal of mine that lasted through 7 home moves. The others ran away.
He loved to ride in the car. He'd sit on my lap and look out the driver's side window.
Rikki would walk me to the bus stop and be there when I got home.
I once got him drunk on whiskey. He was addicted after that.
His meow was silent. You could see his mouth move but, you couldn't hear him.
Even after he was big, he still liked to sit on my shoulders under my hair while I watched t.v.
During a party at my house my sis-in-law went outside to puke and Rikki was cleaning it up as she horfed. She couldn't stop throwing up.
He was the most loving and funniest cat you've ever seen.
Rikki loved to have his "armpits" rubbed.
The day he left to die, I found a dead bird on my patio. He knew it was time and didn't want me to see.
I have more pics I will add later.
