.:dreams...a sanctuary adrift:.

A while ago my friends started calling me the antichrist, a name I found suited me on several levels. I adopted it as my new alias, turning it into a last name and adding a first one, one I thought fitting--Jezebel. For it only follows that the antichrist should be a woman, being the opposite of all that Christ was.

This train of thought led me down a different path, however, regarding the very nature of the antichrist itself. According to popular Christian belief the Antichrist is a man of great evil who will come and enslave the world to his will, or something along those lines--there are tons of prophecies about it. This view has never sat well with me, and not being Christian I did not feel obliged to follow it.

I began speculating on the nature of opposites, of balance, of Yin to Yang--an ancient eastern concept of "primal opposing but complementary forces"1. Yang is the lighter, masculine element associated with fire and the day. Christ-energy obviously corresponds with this--how closer to "Sun of God" can you get? (And, indeed, rebirth of the Sun God.)

That leaves Yin: passive, darker, feminine element associated with night and water. The two bring balance to the world.

If Christ has the Yang energy, then who has the Yin? My answer would be Mary Magdalene, his wife and spiritual equal. Following my course of thought, that the Antichrist would be the opposite of Christ, that would make Mary Magdalene the Antichrist. I'm sure modern Christians would agree, and go on to talk at length of the evil nature of woman and original sin and all that, and how only the great forgiving nature of their lord would allow such a harlot to live.

But I never said the Antichrist was evil, and I certainly do not believe so, not now, not ever. I simply believe the antichrist has a different way of awakening us--Christ thru forgiveness, and the Antichrist thru a smack-down of spiritual and grand proportions. Heaven knows we need it--and so does hell, for that matter.

That only leaves who the antichrist is, today, in this day and age, because I think it is Her time to rise--the Second Coming, if you will, but much different than what is thought. If it is Mary Magdalene, then it would be her present-day incarnation, and she would be a Daughter of the Goddess as much as her love was a Son of the God. It is time to bring balance back to the world, balance between opposing and complementary forces, and I believe that the rebirth of the Goddess is in order--as is a major smack-down, because we won't wake up otherwise.

This brings us back to my original paragraph, where I stated my nickname as the Antichrist. Do I believe I am the incarnate of Mary Magdalene, here to bring salvation to the world like my predecessor but in a wholly different manner? Of course not. I simply take the name so that when the time comes, the true Antichrist will have an easier time of it. I am happy to be a scapegoat for my Goddess, and for my God.
