Devotionals from the Upper Room
This is the part of the website where I will keep the devotionals from Wednesday Nights at The Upper Room. At any given time I will probably only have 8 or 9 devotionals posted up here. But I will make a list of all the devotionals I have so you can e-mail me to recieve the ones that are not posted on the website.
Faithfulness Remember all the stories out of the Bible from your Sunday School lessons and sermons where paralytic people, people who couldnt move, were told to rise and walk by Gods disciples. In that day the people had the same problems we do now, and Jesus told them how to fix it. Read Matthew 17:14-20 When the disciples tried to rebuke the demon from the boy they had no luck because they had no faith. Jesus knew in his heart that this demon had no power over him and easily rebuked the demon. He also told the disciples that if they had even faith the small size of a mustard seed they could tell a mountain to move and it would obey. Not all people had no faith. Peter and John had faith that Jesus could do anything and thus just their presence brought the power of God. Read Acts 3:1-10 I have been told by someone a comment I have never forgotten. That comment is, No longer can we say silver and gold we have none. But no longer can we say rise and walk. The lust and want for money has made people change their priorities. Instead of telling people about God first and finding their daily needs later the priorities of life became money first, God when I have time. Read Acts 5:12-16 Just the faith of the villagers that made them believe allowed their sick to be healed. If todays teens were willing to believe a little more and just have faith amazing things could be accomplished. Ask God in your prayer to guide you in setting your priorities, and to help you believe with the faith of a mustard seed. Ask your accountability partner to help you as you doubt and help them to remain strong in faith. If a mustard seed of faith can move a mountain, it can definitely change a world with the gospel.
