(* Warning: My lists are never complete. See the "Jumps" menu in the leftbar.)
Interests
Movies >> I really love all types of movies except really artsy fringe stuff, horror films, and stupid humor. Oddly enough, I don't like TV, except West Wing.
Music >> I miss downloading mp3s *tears* I like many different kinds of music, but I'm not a rap fan.
Internet >> How did we live without it? I like to chat with my friends mostly, and surf and look for news and information.
Reading >> I love reading. I remember as a child spelling words out loud that I read in books and asking my Mom what they meant. Nothing in this world calms me down like curling up with a heavy quilt and reading a good book. I was an editor for many years. For someone who loves reading so much, I find it hard to find really good books lately. I just finished reading Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier. It's well written. I like fantasy fiction, drama, some mysteries (but not bloody or creepy ones), love stories that aren't tacky or Harlequinesque but are realistic, and biographies.
Family >> My kids, husband, and siblings are my life.
Rock climbing >> Okay, so I just started, but I LOVE it! I plan to get my own gear this summer and wear it out.
Photography >> My camera is a cheapie, and I'm a lousy photographer. But that doesn't stop me from being interested and wanting to learn more. (Besides, this is the "Interests" section, not the "Proficient at and Could Teach Courses In" section.)

| Goals & Dreams
I don't know how much I believe in these anymore. It seems every time I make a big goal or have a dream, it gets dashed to pieces. I don't feel like my dreams are unrealistic. I would like to own a nice home someday where I'll be comfortable, preferrably with a mountain view and a decent-sized landscaped yard and gardens. I'd love a real vacation to some place exotic and isolated but also interesting and relaxing and low pressure/not busy. I'd also like to find a career that suits me well enough that I don't dread going to work in the morning but actually feel competent enough to handle and WANT to go to work most days. I'd appreciate it if my kids would learn not to destroy everything that is precious and important to me. And it would be nice if I felt a little more appreciated and even extraordinary sometimes. I don't think those are unreasonable hopes..

| Regrets
I regret getting side-tracked from my dreams. I regret trusting certain people who hurt me so much I'm perhaps beyond recovery. I will always regret not making that trip at all costs and despite refusals the day my Mom needed me most.
I regret meeting certain people who've left black marks on my soul..
