D'nerek and Clarth

The high ceiling of the weyr D'nerek and Clarth share is the first thing you notice as you step into their weyr. Then, a flash of green alerts you to the presence of Corin, D'nerek's green firelizard. Unlike last time, the weyr is in relativly clean - as if you can get a cave "clean."

Passing by Clarth, as he watches you make your way back to see D'nerek, you wonder what the bronze is thinking. What do dragons do all day when they aren't fighting thread?

Passing the great bronze, you respectfully address him, "Good morning, Clarth."

This time he does not choose to speak to you.

Clarth

D'nerek is seated at his small work table, immersed in whatever he is doing. He doesn't even notice your presence until Corin, lands on his shoulder and chirps in his ear.

"Hey, good morning," Denerek greets you, looking up from his work, "it's been a while since you were here last."

"Yes, I visit many weyrs all the time," you aswer, surprized he remembered you. "I'm shocked at how big Clarth is now."

"Well, he's reached his full length. He's not as big as Ferth, but he's a good size bronze. He's not a baby anymore."

Not that you could even imagine him that small to begin with, you think to yourself.

"M'lek has me making more copies of the threadfall patterns before noon. He's training me to take over a wing when we grow that big. Right now, we are wing seconds with T'remal and brown Lorth.

Admiring his work, you see that he is very accurate. "You have done a superb job!"

"Well, I've had a lot of practice. Used to have to map the currents back home at the sea hold."

"Shards!" he exclaims. "Your right, Clarth."

With surprizing speed he throws on his riding gear, pulling his helmet down over that thick, curly blonde hair of his, and is halfway to Clarth as he says, "Clarth just reminded me he needs to eat before Threadfall. It's been a while and he needs at least a couple wherries." Then addressing his dragon, "Clarth, I'm so sorry. I'm taking you to hunt right now."

Declining his offer for a ride back down to the bowl, you can't help but be quite amused at flustered dragonrider.
