So, like, webdate 0825.02 It's amazing what one lil minute could be in someone's life. Could be the difference between chaos or order, late or early for something, or even life or death. One lil minute that could change your life in some kind of fascinating manner. Take for instance, I'm driving home from work last Thursday. I'm going a bit of a different way than I usually go, only for the change of habit for a lil while. A typical north carolina back road. I come around this curve that heads downward toward a straight away, and I see cars everywhere. "What the hell is going on here," i thinks to myself. Suddenly I notice that people are getting out of cars running towards other cars. A four car accident. Two were in the road two others were in the grass. Least two of them totaled. I slowly went by checking out the accident like any typical rubber-necker. My mind taking inventory of the situation. First car, front in smashed in something fierce, driver and passenger door open, I'm assuming it was the passenger that was talking to the driver by his door, and the driver alert moving around, mostly rubbing his neck. Next a mini-van, driver's side smashed in, windshield shattered, an older mexican couple both bleeding from head wounds, but moving around. The other two cars were slightly damaged and the owers were headed towards the other cars. Nothing for me to do, as one, I have no medical training nor do i have a cell phone. But I counted at least three different people with them. Less than a minute... and i could have been in it. It's kinda scarey really, to think that any given thing could have been different that day that could have had me leave work one minute earlier. Or instead of hitting a red light, it may have been green. Guess it shouldn't, but it does, it amazes me how big a different that a minute could make.

That's one of those songs that always makes me smile, and it makes me think of my mum, whose passing of three years ago of the 22nd. It's still not easy from time to time, but I keep her close in the best way i know how, my memories. I don't really dwell on the date that she died as much it hits me around the holidays and her birthday. I suppose my mind just kinda figures it's got enough to deal with. All I know, is that i'm glad i had the support of my best friend at that rough time, and then the support of my family when i had to go face my step father last January. Maybe i'll write that "twilight zone" story one day, just so i might be able to get it out of my system. Recommendation - Read Twilight Eyes by Dean Koontz. He describes "Goblins" in that book. If you want to know what my step father is like, read that book. It'll tell you more than you need to know.

Unusual things... As one of those things you wish you had a working camera for. Best friend and his wife were down last weekend looking at houses. We're sittin in traffic and we see this motorcycle. It's pulling a trailor of sorts. I say of sorts, because it was the shape of a coffin. So, Ladies and Gentlemen, there is a coffin roaming around that has it's own lil license plate on it. It reminds me of the blind black dude off the O Brother, Where Art Thou movie... "And though the road will be straight and crowded, and the sun will make you hot and aggravated, you'll see weird things... like a motorcycle..... pulling a coffin... hehe..."
