BARKER (Gill) Sue Joined 7th January 1969 as Wtr(P)  125355. After training drafted to HMS Fulmar, Lossiemouth.  Changed category in 1971 and after training at HMS Excellent drafted to HMS Daedalus for  months then returned to Lossie for a year when it was handed opver top the RAF.  Drafted to Whale Island.  During this time spent 3 months recruiting at Birmingham Careers Office.  I lived in Stafford so was able to commute.   Became a Leading Wren in 197 and was drafted to HMS Neptune where I met and married Terry, CPO (Phot).  I left after marriage and we were drafted to Yeovil.  When Terry left the RN we moved to Elgin, nr.Lossie and now live in Mosstodloch about 8 miles from Elgion.  Would love to hear from anyone who remembers Terry or myself  E-mail  [email protected]

BOGGIE(Harris) Anne .Joined HMS Dauntless on Jan 19 '71 No. 127144.  I went to Daedalus in Feb '71 for basic training , then on to Yeovilton (station flight) I was the first Wren Air Mech drafted into Portland in Sept.'72 together with 12 other air mechs. I went back to Daedalus in Jan'74 where I met my husband George as a leading hand.  We went back to Portland in Jan'76 and married in Feb '76 I left the WRNS in Sept.'76, had two children and have been married for 25 years now.  My husband progressed through the Navy and left as a Commander, Air Engineer in April 1996. BOUGHTON (Clark) Julia 113689 Joined Nov.'55 Warspite 78.  I was a Range Assessor and trained and served at Lossiemouth from '55 to Sept.'57 At Eglinton, N.I. until Oct.'58; Yeovilton until leaving the service in Oct.'59 with a 2 month stint at RNAS Ford during 1958. I was involved in WRNS and RN rifle shooting, small and full bore, and shot for the Navy at Bisley in '58 and '59.  I married CERA Nobby Clark who was also a rifle and pistol shooter and went on to represent GB.  We have a son and a daughter and two granddaughters. We both went into teaching and are now enjoying retirement. BUNTIN (Kolodziej) Maggie 120787 Joined Feb 1964 as a WRO. Did my trade training at HMS Mercury and moved on the HMS Prsident where I stayed until 1965. From there I was on to Lossiemouth, where, in Dec. 1966 I married Steven Reed and left the WRNS. I have since moved to Canada and have been living in Vancouver since 1969 but would love to contact any of my mess mates from back in "the good old days". Then to Sea Hawk (Air Traffic Control) RNAS Culdrose until April '62 when I left to get married to Neil "Harry" Danks.  We spent 2 yrs In Singapore where I was fortunate enough to find work in the RN Dockyard. The first job was with the armament depot before I was transferred to the Seventh Submarine division where I worked as a clerical assistant. I then went on to HMS Collingwood.  I was married out of Collingwood by the Chaplain on Dec.21st 1951. My husband, John was an EM1 at the time. DAWSON (White) Joyce 27210 I served as a L/QWren and went to Australia abooard the Dutch liner Neuw Amsterdam in 1944. I was attched to the shore base Golden Hind and worked at the main post office in sydney, while staying at the Bondi Hotel (well some of us had to have comfy beds!) DAYMAN (Cozens) Betty 59927 Joined May 1947 until May 1950. Served Dauntless, Ceres for Wtr (P) training. From there to HMS Gamecock until Nov.'48 then to HMS St.Angelo (Malta).  I wonder if anyone from cabin B4-1 in Whitehall Mansions is out there - Joan Cresswell - she married a Canadian I believe, or from Gamecock - Pat, she married an Aussie and became Pat Patch.  I married a Navy man who then transferred to the New Zealand Navy.  We lived there for 15 years then went back to UK but have recently returned to New Zealand to live near our children and now live in Auckland.  e-mail [email protected]   &nbasp;

GREENHOUGH (Murray)  Jacqui. HARRALL (Stoker) Peggy 1942-46. Naval Stores. Served Allenby at Folkstone and St. Angelo, Malta.( Manoel Island).There were twenty Wrens in our draft to Malta. We went out on the Volendam. Some of the names that I remember are Paddy, Helen, Drew and Paula. Paula had a lovely singing voice and sang at the ships concert. There were 500 Welsh Guards on board and the applause was tremendous. We were routed to Egypt and spent three weeks there. Went to Mersa Matruh where we were welcomed by a Signal Unit (Army) and had a glorious week, sailing and bathing and just chilling out on the lovely sandy beaches. I wonder if any of the other wrens on that draft are still around. I would certainly like to chat with them if there are. Would like to chat with any ex jennies regardless of age etc. etc. Give us a buzz.I am just getting used to this internet lark, aided by my grandson!! E-mail [email protected].

Remustered in early '47 when asked to sign on for another 2 years for the princely sum of 40 pounds!! Then on to HMS Ceres for training in Supply. Back to Heron until release Jan 17th 1949. Left for Canada Jan 20th still on demob leave. Didn't have enough clothing coupons to buy any civvies!! I live in New Westminster, BC, Canada and have for the past 53 years. McDOUGAL (Quaye) Alison 104523 Joined at Mill Hill in March 1945, Trained at Chelsea Polytechnic in class D7 to be a radio mech (radar) then changed to W/T gen. service at HMS Mercury. Went to HMS Nightjar for several months and became a L/Wren. Early in Jan 1946 all gen. service radio mech's underwent six weeks training at HMS Ariel, then at Culcheth, Warrington to transfer to air. I next went to HMS Merganser and was attached to a Barracuda squadron(!) Rattray closed down and everything was transferred to Lossiemouth where no Wrens were going so I went to Nuthatch, Anthorn until 1949 when I married CERA (subsequently one of the first Fleet Chiefs) Bill/Tom Quaye. We returned to his home on the Isle of Man at the end of his service. I worked for Customs & Excise and he built us a house. He died in 1995.    Sadly, Alison joined her husband Bill on October 26th 2002

SPENCER Doreen Dorothy served approx 41/42 to demob as a coder. I think she trained for that at Newton le Willows. She was in Plymouth and Australia, among other places and with the mine laying fleet in Skye. She went out to Australia on the Otranto(?) and returned on the Andes. STANMORE (Scott) Pearl. 81449 Joined 1945 and spent 18 months in London as an MT driver, Ledbrook Grove, Kensington, Sloane Square, Chelsea, Staines Middlesex. Two and a half years at HMS Ganges, where she met her husband a Royal Marine. They had been married for 52 yrs when he passed away in Dec 2000. STAPLEFORD (Tann) Joyce 82121 I joined in May 1943. May training was at Wesley College at Headingly, Leeds. From there I went to Liverpool and Blundell Sands and on to Milford Haven (HMS Skirmisher) where I worked in the Naval Stores Office. After all the D-Day activities I went to Australia aboard the Athlone Castle and spent time in Melbourne and Sydney. On return to UK we found that the Western Approaches port division had closed and I was sent to Devenport. There I spent about 3 years in the Personnel Selection Office. The next, and last, draft was to Chatham where I became a Royal Marine Wren and worked in the Pay and Records office. When I was demobbed, early in 1951, I got married and, during that year I went out to Malta, where my husband, Alan, was in a destroyer, HMS Cheviot. Now live near Perth, Australia. Drafted to HMS Raleigh 65/67 then onto Mercury  until '68, then Sea Eagle for 6 months until I went to work for the 1st Sea Lord, billeted at President.  Left for 6 months and re-entered back to President (same job) and then onto Dauntless from 71/72 as P.O. Drafted to Victory briefly to change category to Welfare but reverted back to OS and went to Neptune 7 to May '74 then went on to HMS Rooke till mid '75 (Chiefs) From there to President (wardroom) until mid '76 when I went to Pembroke as a trainer at Stewards school.  I finished my time at HMS Vernon leaving in Dec.'76  Would love to hear from anyone who knows me - especially Anne Coombs.  We were at Mercury together. WARBURTON (Hurst) Jane (often refered to as Warby or Warbs) I served as a radio operator at HMS Dolphin after completinmg my training at HMS Raleigh and HMS Mercury.  Whilst at Dolphin I was seconded to Manchester careers office, then my next draft was to 345 Northwood.  I left there in 1994 when my son, Thomas, was born.  I remember all the good times while serving in the WRNS and would love to hear from anyone who remembers me. WILCOX (Mahany) Brenda 117838 26th September, 1960. Dauntless, Warspite Div., then to Pembroke, Chatham, for stores (V) training. RMB Eastney in January 1961 working in the victualling store and residing in Cassandra mess at Duchess of Kent Barracks, Portsmouth.  I was there until about April 1963 and then went to President living at Furse House, South Kensington. I was only there a few months and then went to HMS Drake at Plymouth where I started out in the clothing store and then went on to the Loan Clothing Store.  Whilst at Drake I lived in the WRNS Quarters at St Budeaux.  I would love to find an old friend of mine  Alice Watt,  a wren wtr. who was at HMS Victory  but in the next bed to me in Cassandra mess   in Duchess of Kent Barracks.  In that mess were also Isabelle Mitchell, Diane Goudie, Jenny Studd, Gwen ? Betty Currie and a few others who, I am ashamed to say I cannot remember their names but I can still picture their faces.(Must be a sign of old age)  Three others who were friends were Jessie Galbraith and two Scots lassies Elizabeth and Christine.
