| Business Greetings The one place where handshakes are almost univerally expected is in business greetings. In business meetings it is common to combine the informal greeting, "Hi. Nice to meet you," with a formal handshake. Example: "Hello. It's good to meet you." "It's good to meet you, too." The informal responses "Likewise," and "You, too," should be avoided in this instance, but would be perfectly acceptable when meeting a potential friend or date. The above greeting can also be used to say goodbye to someone you just met. "It was good meeting you." "It was good meeting you, too." |
