Chapter 16

"Ok, now try to stand up. Hold on to the table." The doctor intructed Alea. Alea placed her feet on the ground, and slowly sat up off the bed. Once she was standing immediate pain hit her in the chest and she quickly placed her weight on the table. "You broke three ribs, there going to be sore, but I can't let you go home until I think you can handle yourself" "No, No, let me try again" Alea argued, she desperatly wanted to go home where Scott and the gang could take care of her. Alea stood up once again, her chest still aching. She slowly took small steps, holding in the pain, until she made it to the other side of the room, where she then placed her weight on Scott. "I can tell your still in pain, but I've checked and everything is okay. It's just a matter of being a little sore. I'll let you go home on a few conditions. One, We get you a back brace so you can't move your upper chest, this will help the pain and the healing process. Two, when you have to walk let someone help you, just like that" the doctor added as Scott placed an arm on her lower waist, careful not to touch her ribs, and Alea drapped one arm over Scott's shoulder as they walked her back to the bed. "Three, you stay on pernament bed rest until your check up in two weeks. Meaning there will always have to be someone home with you, I don't want you getting out of bed for any other reason then having to go to the bathroom. Even then I want someone to at least help you walk to the door. So before I agree to let you go you have to assure me you'll never be alone.." the doctor finished waiting for a response. "Believe me there will always be someone" Scott answered. "Okay then, I'll let you go. I'll have a nurse drop off the back brace later today and show you how to use it. You can discharge tomorrow morning. I'll see you in two weeks" The doctor finished and walked away.

At 7:45am the next day Alea and Scott were getting ready to go, Scott had already taken their stuff to the car. The nurse then came in and wrapped medical cloth tightly around her chest and upper stomach, to help stop her from moving when the brace wasn't on. "Now as soon as you get home, go straight to bed and put on the brace" The nurse instructed before she left. Scott helped Alea to his car outside and placed her in the passanger seat, which he had placed lying down so it would be easier. She slowly got in the seat and layed back as Scott helped her buckle her seat belt. As Scott drove Alea looked at the passing sights, from the position she was in she could only see the tops of buildings and trees. But even not being able to see see could feel when they got close to home, she was just so happy to be going back there.

Scott helped Alea out of the car as they slowly walked into the house. As soon as they walked in they saw the whole house had been decorated with ballons and signs that said stuff like' Welcome Home Alea' and Alea laughed a little when she saw I sign that read "Yes Scott were only welcoming Alea, so don't expect anything! ' Alea could tell that it must have been writtin by one of the girls. That's when it occured to Alea, she wasn't at her house, she was at the lad's house. She had no clue where she was going to be sleeping, all the guys shared a room, well except for Sean. J quickly offered Scott help to get Alea to the room "You need some help" "No I've got it" Scott answered quickly. Before her and Scott made there way to whatever room he was taking her to, everyone began asking for a hug. Scott quickly stopped them "Sorry guys but no hugs, her ribs are still sore" Alea smiled slightly happy that Scott was taking care of her.

Soon he brought Alea to Sean's room. She was just about to ask where Sean was going to be but stopped when she saw the room. They had moved everything, there were now two beds in the room. One which was near the window had Alea's stuff around it, all the flowers and stuff she had gotten at the hospital. She also saw the closet was open and it was packed with her clothes. She then looked at the other bed, it had Scott's stuff around it. She could tell my the pictures in the frame of him and her. "Oh guys you shouldn't have, but where's Sean now?" "I traded with Scott" she could here Sean's voice behind her. Scott then sat her down on the bed and got the brace, she quickly stood up again as he put it on. He had to literally lift her back onto the bed cause it made her whole body as stiff as a board. Scott then tucked her in, and she smiled. "Okay guys Alea needs her rest" Scott told everyone, everyone waved at Alea as they walked back to the living room. "I'm gonna go and relax for a bit with everyone if you need anything just ask" he told her while gesturing to the baby moniter beside her. "I know it looks really stupid but this way you can just talk to get our attention instead of screaming" Scott explained. "No, it's fine. I'm lucky to have you to think of such helpful things, and to take care of me" Alea answered. Scott kissed her softly on the lips then left the room. Alea shut her eyes, drifting to a peaceful sleep, knowing it would be the best sleep she had, had in weeks.
