My Technology Section

What is I.T.?
I.T. is the abbreviation for Information Technology. According to http://search390.techtarget.com, the definition of Information Technology is a term that encompasses all forms of technology used to create, store, exchange, and use information in its various forms (business data, voice conversations, still images, motion pictures, multimedia presentations, and other forms, including those not yet conceived). It is a convenient term for including both telephony and computer technology in the same word. It is the technology that is driving what has often been called the information revolution. In other words, Information Technology is a broad term used to describe any and all parts of managing and processing information and data electronically. The definition varies from place to place and has changed many times over the past years. New technology will continually be introduced that is bigger and better than what we had previously. People in the Information Technology field should not be intimidated by change and look forward to what will be introduced next.

What is an online portfolio?
An online portfolio is a websited used to sell yourself to potential scholastic, professional, and career organizations. It is a way a person can demonstrate their abilities and skills to potential employers. It can display sections including your resume, courses, activities, experience, and projects. A major benefit of an online portfolio is that it can be updated as you learn new skills
and gain new abilities.

What about my portfolio?
My audience is employers who are looking for employees with career development and training skills and knowledge. I want to communicate to any Human Resource, Career Development, or Training Department that I am hoping to obtain a position as a Training Coordinator and am
willing to learn to further my career options. I will probably not employ many graphical elements
as my technical skills are not that great. Where I lack in technical skills, I will make up in my communication skills.

My Favorite Student's Portfolio

After hours of searching and reviewing different student portfolios, this is the one I liked the best. Even though it doesn't match exactly what our class is doing, this is the best I could find. I liked the use of the white space, the graphics and colors were done well, and it is neat and organized. There was possibly too much wording on the home page and the photo might not should have been included, but other than that I really liked it. I think this student did a really great job on their portfolio.

My Favorite Instructor's Portfolio

I really like this instructor's online portfolio. It had great use of colors and layout which flowed very smoothly. The site has a lot of useful information and goes into detail about his experiences. The only improvement I see is a different resume layout. If more images and graphics were used it would be more eye-catching.
