She thinks if the little girl would wake up she could 'get better'. In reality she only removes Xena's 'life-force' and puts it in the little girl. The little girl then has both 'life forces' in her. Xena now becomes unconscious and her body an empty shell. The little girl wakes up screaming for her mommy.

The makeup effects are simply awful...Mulder ends up looking like a Star Wars prune alien and Scully looks like a rotting, welted corpse. No makeup is even applied to their hands, and their hair is still normal, even at a supposed 90 years. Great idea and story, but horrible makeup ruins it.

Selene however found a loophole to free herself of that entrapment if not her consort. Only a short time before she had crossed swords with X-Force at an alternative rock festival, where the X-Forcers were hanging out. She planned to get the power of an Asgardian runestaff for herself, which could only be freed from its encasing at a certain constellation and with the blood of an Asgardian. With her not daring to approach Thor, she simply took the blood of Dani Moonstar, an adopted Asgardian of sorts thanks to her Valkyrie status. Thanks to X-Force’s intervention the spell went awry, the awesome energy of the runestaff wasted in animating a metal statue (the symbol of the festival) instead. Moonstar managed to rattle and chase Selene away with an image of her greatest fear: turning physically old with her powers deserting her.

It turns out that Longshot is on the run from Mojo, maniacal inter-dimensional TV executive. Using Jubilee as the 'prize', Mojo and his minions lure Longshot and the X-Men into a deadly contest which Mojo broadcasts 'live' to up his ratings. (Spiral gets aged.)
