1. Register the name of the New Ministry with the Secretary of State of California -- Document File - Divison 1 (916) 653-2318
2. While waiting for the papers to come and the registering process to complete, which will take about 6 weeks, make arrangements for a Post Office Box or get a box with Mail Boxes Etc.
3. Next, after you get a PO Box address, think about the design of your letterhead, envelopes, business cards, address labels, etc.
4. Create a mailing list of the people and churches interested in your ministry. Not only get the name, physical address but the email address also.
5. Make arrangements for Administrative Support to assist you in your Ministry functions: write letters to your supporters, newsletters, titheing / contribution reports, posting a calender of events,
creation of office forms, designing of flyers, keeping the books, etc.
6. Get a website and advertise as much of your ministry as you can. Then put the web address and e-mail address on your letterhead, business cards, brochures and flyers. I recommend YAHOO for this. When you open up a free YAHOO e-mail account you get not only an e-mail address but 30
megs of website space, a calendar, an address book and so much more. . . AND ALL FOR FREE.
7. Later on, once your Ministry is more established and regular funds are coming in to cover expenses, you then can consider incorporation.
