Day 4:

Brad's Journal:

"Tal, Manasul lodge, 5:30pm:
All snuggled in for another night.  What a great day!  We left again at 8 am and arrived here around noon.  We opted for another short day and it was a good decision.  Neither of is tired or sore today.  We are getting in shape at last!  This was the first real climbing day and we did it easily.  By taking another short day we are sure to feel good tomorrow.  I am really hitting my stride physically and emotionally.  My is settting and is no longer nervous.  It is so peaceful back here.  What can you say about a place where the horses and chickens come right in while you are eating dinner?  We saw about 5 other trekkers today.  This is such a great time to be here.  Today I took some things from Jen's pack and this really seemed to help her.  After lunch it rained for quite some time.  This probably means snow in the higher elevations.  We will have to see about the pass when we get closer.  If we keep progressing as we did today, we will plenty strong.  Tal (5,512ft) is at the head of large flat valley.  You can see the snow capped mountains peeking over the foothills.  A large waterfall runs the steep wall 100 meters out of our bedroom window.  This is such an amazing place to be and time to be here (not many trekkers).  Even though this is the most popular trek, we feel like we are alone.  We are the only people in the hotel and only saw two other people on the cobble stone walk way.   We can hear the family preparing dinner downstairs, hear the children laughing in the feilds behind our hotel and the bells that signify donkeys and horses as they walk through the village.  The ancient ways have not died out here and seem as though they never will.  The next five days will take us to nearly 11,500 ft. and through villages with a rich Tibetan heratige.  I feel as though I am walking through a dream and I am, only it is a true dream about my life.  May all beings be happy, and help all beings to happy in return.
Every night we would climb in the bags early because we were tired and it was cold outside.
The kids love to see themselves on the digital camera.  Everyone comes up to us everday saying "Namaste (hello)".
