My world exclusive snaps of the England captain show him looking mean and moody with tramlines slicing his close-cropped hair.

One picture has a Union Flag reflected in the lens of his shades.

But Becks’ ice-cool looks are a far cry from the David during his early years at Man United – when his suit didn’t fit and his barnet was all over the shop.

An insider at Police tells me: “David is a style icon around the world with millions wanting to copy his every look.

“It is funny to think that he hasn’t always been as cool – but I guess we have his wife Victoria to thank for completely turning around his image.”
