Take a good long look at the map of the panama canal and you'll see something quite ironic. The Panama Canal zone is not much further from the U.S. border than, Cuba. BUT, when President Kennedy saw a communist foreign power propping up a puppet government in Cuba and arming that government with nuclear capability, He stepped forward and demanded the removal of that capability. Now, however, we have a very similar situation taking place and nothing is being done. Consider that nuclear devices can now be stored in a brief case and that the canal is a vital trading and defense point. How is it that the U.S. can now turn a blind eye to such danger? |
