Beck was granted the powers of Shazam in her native 80th century but was thrown into the 30th century when terrorists blew apart the Rock of Eternity, from which she derives her powers. She joined the Legion when they offered to assist her in rebuilding the Rock and they succeeded after defeating a Rimborian crimelord called Pernisius, who had discovered that the Eternium granted him incredible powers. Beck remained with the team until the UP turned against the Legion in the wake of the Blight invasion and the stargate rift incident at which point she became so disheartened that she returned to her own century, promising to return one day.
When transformed into her "Shazam" persona, Beck has enhanced strength and speed, stamina, flight and wisdom. |
